Hyper CDN Positioning
Hyper CDN is a commercial CDN software solution. Many large companies possess their own dedicated CDNs, and some even have their own PCDNs (Peer-to-Peer CDNs). Smaller companies, however, must rely on the established CDN programs provided by these major players.
Hyper CDN operates in a niche space between the smaller and the larger organizations, being capable of independently developing a full CDN system and offering it to users who require a self-developed solution. This business area is generally overlooked by the major corporations, which provides opportunities for platforms like Hyper CDN.
What exactly does a CDN do?
The initial purpose of a CDN was to solve problems related to bandwidth and performance. To give a simple example: imagine you have a 1GB file to share with users all over the world, but your server only has 1 Gbps of bandwidth. If each user downloads at 10 MB/s, you could only serve about 100 concurrent users.
To fix this, you think of a solution: put the file on 10 servers, which would allow 1,000 users to download simultaneously. However, you would need to manually group users and direct 100 of them to download from the same server. Without technical knowledge, this is very difficult to manage and hard to ensure equal load across all servers.
This is where the Domain Name System (DNS) comes in to solve the problem. It can distribute (balance) requests across my servers. I only need to share one domain name with my users. For example, my single domain's A record points to 10...
